You may spot a Royal Bengal Tiger or a leopard along the trail if luck is on your side. Midway through the safari, take a break at a safe lookout point near the river. Then, swap to a different vehicle for a traditional wooden canoe and float gently down the Rapti River. You get close-up views of mugger crocodiles and the long-snouted gharials, often on the riverbanks. You can spot kingfishers, egrets, and other water birds while enjoying the canoe ride.

After the canoe ride, you will visit the Elephant Breeding Centre to learn about the ongoing conservation efforts and see elephant calves under the care of mahouts and veterinarians. Nepal is a year-round destination with especially ideal conditions during spring and autumn. The weather is most favorable, and the skies are usually clear.
Autumn (September to November): Autumn comes right after the monsoon, as the rain washes away the dust and leaves crystal clear skies and fresh air. The temperature is comfortable, usually at 20-25°C in Kathmandu and Pokhara, and warmer in Chitwan. Nights are slightly cooler. You will enjoy incredible mountain views, making the season ideal for the sunrise views from Sarangkot or the flights from Kathmandu.
Autumn also coincides with some of Nepal’s most significant festivals like Dashain, Tihar, and Chatth, adding a festive spirit across the cities. However, this is also the busiest season, so popular sites can get crowded, and hotels fill up quickly. We recommend booking in advance.
Spring (March to May): Spring is the best season after autumn. Days start warming up after winter, and the temperature ranges between 15-30°C. It is a beautiful season for sightseeing and outdoor activities. The landscape is colorful with blooming flowers. Hillsides have rhododendrons covering them, with jacaranda trees coloring the cities in purple. Spring also brings Holi and the Nepali New Year, making the atmosphere festive. Early Spring has excellent mountain views, while late spring gets hazy, especially in lowlands like Chitwan. May starts feeling hot, and occasional pre-monsoon showers may hit, but mornings are often clear and pleasant.
Winter (December to February): Winter is also favorable for the tour. Kathmandu and Pokhara have mild days of about 10-20°C with nights ranging from 0 to 5 °C. Chitwan stays warm throughout the year. This season has fewer crowds so that you will enjoy the tour in a peaceful setting with clear skies. Just bring a warm jacket and you are good to go. Most hotels provide heating or provide extra blankets for comfort.
Monsoon (June to August): Monsoons have green landscapes and fewer crowds. Days are hot and humid with frequent afternoon or evening rain. Travel is slower, and mountain views are usually unavailable due to fog. On the positive side, waterfalls are full, and the country slide looks amazing. Chitwan’s jungle becomes dense, and rivers are full. Monsoons see the least number of crowds so that you can enjoy a quiet setting and off-season hotel discounts. Plan itinerary flexibility and carry proper rain gear.

Packing smart keeps you comfortable across the three cities’ diverse climates. Pack layers for versatility during cultural city sights, mountain viewpoints, and jungle safaris.
Clothing: Bring 3 to 5 breathable t-shirts or short-sleeved shirts for warm days. We recommend moisture-wicking fabric as it helps with long walks and heat. Pack one or two thin sleeves for sun protection, cool evenings, and temple visits. Early mornings may be chilly, so take a fleece or sweater, a light windproof or waterproof shell, and a warmer coat if you’re traveling in winter. Take 2-3 pairs of comfortable pants, one pair of shorts or capris for warmer days in Chitwan. Pack enough underwear and socks for the trip and comfy pajamas. Women can bring a long skirt or a loose dress for temple visits or hot afternoons.
Footwear: Bring a solid pair of broken-in sneakers or light hiking shoes with a good grip for city walks and jungle trails. You need sandals or flip-flops for hotel stays and to relax by the pools or the riverbank in Chitwan. They’re also handy for short walks in town. While unnecessary, you can bring hiking boots if you take side hikes.
Accessories and Miscellaneous: Bring a small backpack to carry daily items like a jacket, water, camera, sunscreen, and souvenirs. You need a reusable water bottle. Sunscreen. Lip balm, hat or cap, and sunglasses. Bring a personal first kit with basics like pasters, antiseptic wipes, pain relievers, anti-diarrheal meds, insect repellent, and any personal prescriptions. Use hand sanitizer before and after using public restrooms. You can also bring some masks for dusty roads. Some public restrooms may not have toilet paper, so bring some travel-sized toilet paper and a flashlight for Chitwan lodges. Don’t forget your charger, power bank, and extra memory cards or batteries. Nepali mainly uses Type D and C, and many hotels offer multi-plug outlets, but a universal adapter is your safest bet. Securely keep our passport, visa, travel insurance information, and photocopies of all documents with you. Bring extra passport photos and store your document photocopies separately from your passport. Carry some USD or other primary currency to exchange for Nepali Rupees. ATMs are available throughout the city, but Nepal is a largely cash-based society for daily purchases. You can use credit cards for larger payments and emergencies.
Pro tip: Weather can shift quickly, so layer your clothes. Most hotels in Pokhara and Kathmandu offer laundry service, so you can pack lighter and re-wear clothes. Dress modestly when visiting religious sites. Avoid sleeveless tops and short shorts. Carry lightweight scarves or shawls. Stay practical and flexible to enjoy the trip thoroughly.
We design our Kathmandu-Pokhara-Chitwan tour to suit a range of travelers. Whether you are a family, a senior couple, or a private group of friends, this tour offers comfort, flexibility, and memorable experiences.
Family-friendly adventure: The tour is ideal for families with kids of all ages. Children love spotting monkeys at temples, boating in Phewa Lake, and elephants and rhinos in the wild. We offer family rooms or extra beds when available for families. You can change the itinerary according to your needs or slow down. You can opt for kid-friendly options like Kathmandu Zoo, light walking tours, or creative workshops with experienced and patient guides who understand the dynamics of traveling with children.
Senior-friendly pace: The tour has a gentle pace and full private vehicle support, and thus is accessible for active seniors. All sightseeing is done in private vehicles, minimizing walking distances. We can access higher entrances or go slowly with breaks in locations with stairs, like Swayambhunath Stupa. Hotels usually have elevators, or we can arrange ground-floor rooms on request to avoid stairs. We also keep any special dietary or medical needs in check. You can take multiple stops for stretching or restrooms during the road trips. We ensure comfort for all senior travelers, whether adjusting the walking pace or modifying the schedule.
Private tour benefits: This tour is private, with just you and your group and a dedicated guide and driver. Private tours offer maximum flexibility, so you can start your days earlier or later, spend more time at a particular place, or skip stops. You don’t have to keep up with anyone, enhancing safety, comfort, and personal attention. It is ideal for families, senior couples, or solo travelers who want a more tailored experience. Your guide can entirely focus on your preferences and pace.
Accessibility Note: While Nepal had some infrastructural limitations, making it hard for travelers with mobility issues, we do our best to accommodate. If you or anybody in your group has mobility issues, let us know in advance so we can arrange wheelchair assistance at the airport and for city tours. Although temples and heritage sites have uneven terrain or steps, many viewpoints and museums are wheelchair-friendly. Hotels usually have ramps or step-free entries; we can book ground-floor rooms. We design the itinerary to minimize discomfort for all travelers with equal care.
Child Safety: Safety is a priority for all. We provide life jackets during boating and manage car seats upon request. Children can only participate in adventure activities if they are age-appropriate. We offer alternatives like village walks or shorter nature outings in Chitwan, as some longer or more rugged jungle safaris may not be suitable for very young children.
How to book: You can book your tour online or contact us via WhatsApp directly. If booking through our website, select your preferred date and group size. Remember, we conduct this tour year-round and host up to 12 people per group and more upon request. Include any special notes like dietary restrictions, anniversaries, or accessibility needs. After the deposit payment, you will get a detailed invoice and official confirmation letter from our team. Note that the deposit is non-refundable due to the upfront costs.
You can pay the remaining cost 30 days before your tour. If you book within 30 days of departure, we require a full payment up front. In a few cases, we allow the final payment in cash on arrival in Kathmandu.
Cancellation Policy: We will refund all payments if you cancel your tour 30 days before the trek begins. If you cancel between 30 and 7 days before the tour, you get a 50% refund, and cancelling within 7 days of the start date or no-show means no refund. If we cancel the trip due to a natural disaster, political unrest, or safety concerns, we will offer a full refund or help you reschedule. We also assist with all required documents for your claim if you have travel insurance.

It includes your final itinerary, hotel contact details, airport pickup instructions, internal flight tickets if you have any, and emergency contacts. Yes, most travelers need a tourist Visa. The process is straightforward. Fill out a simple form at one of the kiosks or online in advance, then go to the immigration counter with a passport-sized photo and payment in cash. The fee depends on the number of days you want to stay. Since the tour is just 8 days, you can purchase a 15-day visa for USD 30. Alternatively, you can get a tourist visa at a Nepalese embassy in your home country before traveling. Bring small USD bills and your pen for a smoother experience.
While no vaccinations are mandatory to enter Nepal, we recommend routine immunizations like tetanus, Hepatitis A, and Typhoid. Consult your doctor before travelling for the malaria shot. We will inform you of any updated mandatory vaccinations. Drink bottled or purified water, carry personal medications, and use insect repellent to stay healthy during the trip.
The distance from Kathmandu to Pokhara is usually 6 to 7 hours, covering about 200km. It’s about a 5 to 6-hour drive covering 150km from Pokhara to Chitwan. Chitwan to Kathmandu also takes a similar amount of time. We use private, comfortable vehicles with air conditioning to manage the trip through winding and occasionally bumpy roads. We can arrange a domestic flight if you want to shorten your road time.

Our staff are always ready to support you in case of any issues.
You get to enjoy both Nepali and international cuisines. The package includes breakfast in the hotel, offering continental options with a few local touches. We cater to vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free diets, and other dietary needs. Let us know in advance so we can make necessary arrangements.
Yes, ATMs are widely available in Kathmandu and Pokhara, but are less available in Chitwan. Most major restaurants and hotels accept international credit cards, but smaller shops and local eateries prefer cash. Carrying Nepali rupees for small purchases, tips, and personal expenses is better.
You don’t need special gear for the safari; packing sensibly enhances your comfort. We recommend neutral-colored clothing, comfortable trousers, long sleeves for sun and insect protection, a sunhat, and sunglasses. Use sandals or slippers for canoe rides.
