We provided comfortable and hand-picked accommodations to ensure a pleasant stay during your Nepal Trekking Tour. You’ll stay in Hotel Thamel Park or a three-star hotel in Kathmandu. You’ll stay in Teeka Resort or a similar three-star hotel. In Pokhara, while trekking, you’ll stay in local teahouses and guesthouses along the trail. For Chitwan, you’ll remain in Hotel Parkland with all meals included.
All accommodations are on a twin-sharing basis by default. You can get a single supplement for an additional USD 200. We select the best available accommodation for your comfort and experience throughout the tour.
Weather: Weather changes rapidly in Nepal, especially in the mountains. You should stay prepared for all types of weather conditions. We design our itinerary with proper acclimatization to reduce the risk of altitude sickness and oxygen deprivation. If the conditions are not safe, we may adjust the route or descend to a lower altitude for safety. We recommend weaning off layered clothes so you can wear or remove the clothes as you go.
Drones: The Nepal government heavily regulates drone flights. Remember, you cannot operate a drone without the necessary permits. Failing to do so may result in severe consequences, such as fines, confiscation of the drone, or even arrest.
Meals: With Peregrine Treks and Tours, you will enjoy a variety of Nepali and international cuisines. There may be limited options for vegan meals in rural areas, but they are widely available in the cities. You’ll have breakfast and dinner in the teahouse and lunches at trailside restaurants. Typical dishes include Dal Bhat, vegetables, salads, noodles, sandwiches, pasta, and soup. Depending on availability, you can find Western food like pizza, burgers, and fries in towns, and buy soft drinks, beer, and snacks. We discourage buying bottled water to minimize environmental impact.
Local Flights: You must carry all necessary documents, including your passport. Domestic flights in Nepal are often delayed, so be prepared. Unless otherwise noted, we don’t include local flights in the tour cost.
Solo Travelers: We organize group trips on a twin-sharing basis. You may have to pay a supplement to cover accommodation if you are a solo traveler in mixed-gender groups. We can pair single travelers with someone of the same gender. We price specific trips individually for single travelers.
Accommodation on the trail: Includes hotels, guesthouses, and tea houses. We offer private rooms at lower altitudes but none at higher altitudes. Bathrooms may be attached or shared with squat or western-style toilets. While some tea houses provide wood-heated water, don’t expect flowing hot water. Lighting and charging facilities may be limited in remote areas. You’ll have your meals in the communal dining room surrounding the traditional stove in the center.
Packing tips: Pack lightweight clothing and gear, and keep the total weight between 10 and 15 kg. You should use a medium-sized backpack and a daypack for the camera, water, and electronics. Don’t bring suitcases as the trails don’t support them. You can hire a porter if you don’t want to carry your luggage yourself, or leave some luggage at the hotel to pick up later.
Laundry: Laundry facilities are available during the trek at a charge. You can use biodegradable soap to protect the environment. You should wear layered clothing, carry a backpack for your gear, and a daypack for essentials. Respect the environmental guidelines, including avoiding single-use plastics.
Budget and Funds: Spending habits vary from person to person. Some travelers prefer fine dining and drinks, while others enjoy simple meals. Your expenses depend on your choices for shopping, meals, and tipping. We recommend carrying at least USD 200 for emergencies such as natural disasters or unforeseen circumstances. While rare, it’s better to stay prepared for any events for peace of mind.
Tipping: You can show your appreciation by tipping your guides and divers. While not mandatory, you can tip your guides, porters, and drivers based on their service. You can tip USD 5-10 per person per day for these staff. The amount depends on your satisfaction with the service.
Health: You should consult our doctor before traveling, especially if you need a prescribed medication or have existing medical conditions. Since some medications are unavailable locally, bringing enough personal medicines is better. You can also provide us with the full drug name in advance so we can arrange it. You must be mindful of your health when planning a trek.
Safety and Security: Stay up to date on your government’s travel advice before visiting Nepal. A licensed guide will accompany you most of the time. You must avoid wandering alone, especially at night, and keep valuable items like cash, passport, and tickets. You should keep your essential documents in a money belt or a hotel safe.
Nepal is generally safe, but you can never be too safe. Avoid protests or demonstrations and proceed with caution during night excursions. If you find yourself near a protest, inform your guide immediately and move to safety. Don’t participate in water-based activities without your guide’s supervision. You can go swimming, snorkeling, or other water activities at your own risk.
Other: Wear lightweight, loose, and breathable clothes on tour. You must dress respectfully and avoid shorts, miniskirts, tank tops, or singlets in the religious sites. Please don’t use or possess any illegal drugs, as it may result in expulsion from the tour. You must respect the local laws and customs at all times.
You must arrange your Nepal Visa before traveling. We can assist you with the process if you want.
All foreign visitors except Indian nationals need a visa to enter Nepal. You can get your visa upon arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu or from the Nepal Embassy in your home country. Bring your valid passport, passport-sized photos, and visa fees in cash in US dollars. You can get a single-entry visa for 15 days for USD 30, or a 30-day visa for USD 50.

Trip Notes: Nepal offers a unique experience with its vast mountains, beautiful nature, friendly people, and rich culture. Go slow and steady while trekking. You must control your pace and manage altitude. Moving too fast may cause nausea, headaches, or vomiting. Take deep breaths and rest as you listen to your body to enjoy the trek comfortably. Since the sun is intense, you must wear your sunglasses and sunscreen. Layer your clothes to adjust to the temperature changes. Our guides will be with you throughout the trek, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and memorable trek.
We value your feedback. After completing your Nepal Trekking Tour, you can share your experience via email or TripAdvisor. You can enjoy a 5% on your next trip if you’ve already traveled with us. We hope to improve our services with your recommendations. Safe Travels!
